The Big Bend
World Champ Surfer Bear Woznick & his pack, roll thunder on their motorcycles from the Atlantic Coast of Florida to the Pacific Coast of California returning on the same route that Bear had pedaled his bicycle fifteen years earlier.
Bear returns to the first place that the wonder of God opened to him as a youth on the shores of Monterey Bay. He is joined by other bikers along the way, holds a “Call to the Wall” biker rally in Houston and rides deep into the Big Bend Country of Texas as a pack on a quest to seek out manly virtue.
EPISODE 1: AUDERE EST FACERE – TO DARE IS TO DO
Bear Woznick and young sidekick Tony Orband roll thunder on their motorcycles heading out from the Atlantic Coast of Florida on their way to the Pacific Coast of California, but not before they pass through the eye of Hurricane Matthew.
EPISODE 2: FORTIS VOLUNTAS FRATRONITAS – THE STRONG WILL OF BROTHERHOOD
Bear Woznick and young sidekick Tony Orband make it on their motorcycles to the place where Bear ended his Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean bicycle ride in FL 15 years earlier. Then they head west, returning on the same route that he had pedaled. Bear recalls a dramatic moment from his bicycle ride.
EPISODE 3: IMAGEO DEI – IMAGE OF GOD
Bear Woznick and Tony Orband meet up with some bikers just west of Beloxi. They decide to escort them all the way to Houston. They head down to the brothels with Jason Jones carrying a big cross as they pray for the end of sex industry. A pimp and his enforcer show up. As they continue to roll west, Dan’l crashes.
EPISODE 4: CORAGIO – COURAGE
Bear Woznick and the pack rolls thunder on its way to the Big Bend. Jay has to return to San Antonio to fix his bike. Bear sees a lone bicyclist and pulls over to discover that “Archie” is making a cross country bicycle ride to San Diego similar to ride that Bear had done 15 years before.
EPISODE 5: TE ABSOLVO – I FORGIVE YOU
At long last Bear Woznick and the pack rolls into the Big Bend country. In the morning, they rise early to pray on a big mesa. Then they roll out on their first ride through the Big Bend, but Timothy has something else in mind. In the morning they are confronted by the local sheriff.
EPISODE 6: INVECTUS MANEO – I REMAIN UNVANQUISHED
Bear Woznick and the pack roll thunder early and heads up to the Mesa again long before dawn. They seek out silent solitude and prayer along the ridge line before the sunrise and then their voices are heard echoing down the canyon as they shout from the ridge line to each other the rallying cry of the Cristeros: “VIVA CHRISTO REY.” Long Live Christ The King. Doc Lance’s throat has an encounter with a Bowie knife.
EPISODE 7: UBI CONCORDIA IBI VICTORIA – WHERE THERE IS UNITY THERE IS VICTORY
Grady and Padre Mark talk about the “One Thing”, that God requires of a man. But afterward after the men roll out for a ride through the Big Bend, Grady goes missing. Jerry & Dennis can’t believe what they see when they discover him.
EPISODE 8: FORTIS IN ARDUS – STRONG IN ADVERSITY
In the early morning, the pack splits up with Bear & Tony heading west for the Pacific Ocean without the rest of the pack. while the other men peel off in a pack at a juncture and head back to Houston. Bear wonders if they will see the distance cyclist Archie again. They into New Mexico, Bear looks forward to stopping in Las Cruces which is where his first child Fawn was born. A fan of the show, John, recognizes them.
EPISODE 9: QUOD DEUA EX TOTO CORDE TUO – LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART
Bear Woznick and young sidekick Tony Orband roll thunder across the Arizona desert where they meet a young MMA fighter who suffered brain damage and on his way to try re-unite with his children. Tony keeps seeing billboards for something called “The Thing” and suddenly realizes that this must be “The One Thing” that Grady kept talking about.
EPISODE 10: FAC FORTIA ET PATERE – DO BRAVE DEEDS & ENDURE
Bear Woznick and his young sidekick Tony Orband cross over San Diego’s Coronado bridge and celebrate their trip. Tony and Bear split up. Tony ships his bike home and hops a plane back to the east coast. Then it is time for Bear to roll thunder on his Long Ride Home to Monterey Bay to the place of his youth, to the shoreline where the wonder of God first opened up to him and his search for God.
In Season Two, Bear & his pack roll thunder from Cocoa Beach to Miami & then ride to Key West with Arch Bishop Wenski in a pursuit of the Seven Virtues before returning all the way up the eastern coast to New Jersey for a Men’s Rally.
